DESCRIPTION
ITA 221Y
An introduction to twentieth-century Italian literature through a study of representative "novelle", shorter works of fiction, plays and poetry. Selections will include writings by Moravia, Calvino and others. [52L]
 
 
 
 
 

Exclusion: ITA 220Y.

Prerequisite: OAC Italian/or equivalent/ITA100Y

Recommended Preparation: An acquaintance with modern italian literature, literary genres, and figures of speech.

Required textbooks

TBA. The reading material that is in the public domain will be provided in the course's web site. The rest (TBA) will be for sale at the bookstore.

2 tests 50%
Essays on a literary topic (8 pages) or an original short story or One Act play 20%
Presentation(s) 20%
Participation 10%
