UTM, as we are commonly known, is the second largest of the three campuses of the University of Toronto – Canada’s largest and most research-intensive university. It is a place where the quality of one of the world’s preeminent universities meets an idyllic environment for learning and scholarship.

UTM is at an important juncture in its evolution. The demand for higher education is soaring in the western Greater Toronto Area, and the region is rapidly evolving into one of the most vibrant knowledge-based economies in the country. The University of Toronto has risen to the challenge by rapidly expanding its programs and facilities at UTM.

We have come a long way from our roots as an undergraduate campus, adding and growing innovative professional graduate programs and offering research-based graduate degrees supervised by world-class researchers and scholars. Amidst this expansion, we have proudly maintained our reputation as an institution where individuals count, academic excellence is a religion, distinctive programs are delivered with an eye on societal impact, and an outstanding student experience is offered on a 225-acre park-like campus along the nature-rich banks of the Credit River. Yet it is all nested within Canada’s sixth largest city, Mississauga, and the largest metropolitan region, the Greater Toronto Area.

Building a high quality institution requires a commitment of resources and financial investment. To this end, we are pursuing all possible avenues to enhance and diversify our revenues. One major opportunity in this regard is presented by the University of Toronto's $2 billion "BOUNDLESS" capital campaign – by far the largest in Canadian university history. As we pursue UTM's component of the campaign, we are forever mindful of our strong connections to the community and the responsibility this entails. Therefore, the needs and aspirations of our community are constantly in our sightline as we strive to raise the resources to support our relentless pursuit of excellence.

Speaking of the community, UTM is truly a quintessence of the proverbial ‘global village’. For example, nearly 20 per cent of our students this year came from over 120 countries around the world. Our domestic student and staff populations are equally diverse, representing the veritable cultural mosaic that is the Greater Toronto Area. The global collaborations and alumni network of the University of Toronto reach nearly every country on Earth.

Come and experience with us this wonderful intellectual community, the natural beauty of which has earned it the nickname “Camelot Campus”.
