TIMELINES:

Minor Modifications must go through the appropriate committees/council for review and/or approval. These committees/council meet from September to April annually. It is important that your proposed change(s) fall within these timelines in order to be approved and implemented. An approximate timeframe is below:

NOTE 1: Proposals submitted outside of these timeframes will not be reviewed by the appropriate committees/council until those committees/council meet.

NOTE 2: Proposals submitted in September with a start date of September (same year) will not be accepted.

NOTE 3: Proposals for which the start date is September are expected to have undergone the appropriate levels of review and approval during the last governance cycle (at the very minimum).

It is important that you contact the Program and Curriculum Officer, Office of the Dean, UTM to discuss the timelines and your proposed change(s).

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

1. Prior to completion of a Minor Modification Form it is essential that you contact the Program and Curriculum Officer in the Office of the Dean (Melissa Berger: melissa.berger@utoronto.ca) to discuss your planned change and to determine which form is required for completion and what the steps/processes are.

2. The Faculty Graduate Office (FGO) is the Office of the Dean, UTM. Your main contacts are:

   a. Melissa Berger, Program and Curriculum Officer: melissa.berger@utoronto.ca

   b. Anna Reale, Administrative Assistant: anna.reale@utoronto.ca

3. Graduate Curriculum Tracker (GCT):

   a. All Minor Modifications are required to be posted on the Graduate Curriculum Tracker (GCT) prior to submission for governance   approval.  The proposal(s) must have been reviewed by the Vice-Dean Graduate, UTM & Program and Curriculum Officer; the Graduate Advisory Committee, UTM and the Graduate Curriculum Subcommittee, UTM.

   b. The FGO uploads the completed (and additional) forms to the GCT.

   c. The School of Graduate Studies (SGS) reserves the right to review and provide feedback on the proposed. We are required to obtain their approval before proceeding any further.
