Reading Buddies

In collaboration with the Peel District School Board, the Reading Buddies program has been designed by Student Life to help students in grades 1 and 2 enhance their literacy skills through practice reading. If you want to make an impact in your community or gain valuable experience for jobs with youth (including teaching) this is the perfect way to do it!

Duration: March 20th to April 5th (with the option of continuing until the elementary school year is finished).

Commitment: Minimum of 2 hours a week (between the hours of 9:15am-3:15pm).

Requirements:

  • Mandatory meeting with the school principal (dates and time to be assigned after sign-up).
  • Mandatory Training Session on March 19th from 5pm to 6pm.
  • A Police Check with the Vulnerable Sectors Check. If you do not have one, there will be time to get it during sign-up and the start of the program.
