Caledon/Dufferin Victim Services

Description: The Caledon/Dufferin Victim Services is a crisis intervention service assisting those affected by crime, tragedy and disaster in the Town of Caledon and the County of Dufferin. They provide a wide array of services including support, safety planning, general assistance and practical aid. This not-for-profit organization has been helping the Peel Region for over 20 years.

What they need from us: The Caledon/Dufferin Victims Services is looking for a group of students to develop a themed social media strategy, with a focus on Facebook. In addition, they are looking for a new branding strategy and ways to increase awareness through web and print resources.

Who should apply: We are looking for a dedicated group of 5 to 8 students from all disciplines, especially those in CCIT, marketing, management, criminology and other related areas of study. Students applying are expected to commit to weekly or biweekly meetings, required presentations and any supplementary gatherings.

General info: The project will begin with an orientation and training session with your fellow teammates and a representative from the organization in October. The team will then meet to work towards two deadlines, one in December and one in March. The team will eventually present their project to the board of directors of the organization and get feedback on their presentation. At the end of the project, members are expected to take part in a focus group in April.

To apply, please complete the form below no later than 5:00pm on Friday, October 12, 2012.  Your cover letter should outline the skills and experience that you will bring to this project.

Interviews will take place on Tuesday, October 16, 2012, and you will be contacted by 5:00pm on Monday, October 15, 2012 if you have been selected for an interview.  All successful team members must attend a training and orientation session on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at 8:30pm.
