Program Summary:
The Eco-Park Rebate program is one of the ways in which the University of Toronto Mississauga is actively supporting a green community by promoting the use of low-emission vehicles. This includes hybrids and small engine vehicles that emit less than or equal to 125.0g of CO2/km.

Low-emission vehicles provide us all with environmental benefits; in recognition of the commitment, financial investment, and attitude shift of the vehicle owner, the Eco-Park Rebate program will partially reimburse an eligible applicant for their annual parking permit. The reimbursement will take place after the end of the 2011-2012 parking year.

For the purpose of this program, an eligible low-emissions vehicle for the model year 2011 or older is a vehicle that emits on average, less than or equal to 140.0g of CO2/km. For the model year 2012 or newer, an eligible low-emissions vehicle is a vehicle that emits on average, less than or equal to 125.0g of CO2/km

The cut-off limit was adjusted to 125.0g of CO2/km as of 2012 to better reflect the increase in availability of fuel efficient vehicles on the market and to encourage the purchase of more sustainable vehicle choices.

This program will be renewed on a year-to-year basis as the popularity of hybrid vehicles is expected to increase annually.
