Maleeha AhmadMBiotech Class of 2010: Maleeha Ahmad
Research and Metrics Consultant, Region of Peel

Since graduating from MBiotech, Maleeha has been working as a Research and Metrics Consultant at the Region of Peel. She consults various levels of management across the Health Services Department by planning, developing and implementing comprehensive performance measurement systems, while building capacity for ongoing performance monitoring in the Health Services sector. She also develops business cases to guide decision-making through the use of advanced analytics and data-mining.

Maleeha recently completed an evaluation project to critically assess the feasibility of opening a new multi-service clinic in the Region of Peel. The project recommendations resulted in savings of capital costs and running expenditures for a new clinic, and the findings were presented to the Peel Regional Council.

For Maleeha, the most valuable take-away from MBiotech was the work experience she gained through her internship, as well as the critical analysis skills she gained through the AstraZeneca Seminar Series. In her view, the seminars really honed her skills to go through a large amount of both qualitative and quantitative data, make sense of it, and then present it in a way that would make sense to anyone. She feels these experiences have been immensely helpful to her when working on the evaluation for a new clinic.
