Notice of St. George shuttle stop relocation on Tuesday, July 6

The St. George shuttle bus stop will be temporarily relocated to the south side loop of 1 Spadina Cresent on Tuesday, July 6 as a result of events being held at Queen's Park. Hart House Circle will not be accessible as a result of numerous road closures and restrictions.

All St. George departures will be affected by this relocation on Tuesday, July 6.
Regular Hart House shuttle service will resume Wednesday, July 7.

Earth-shattering research nets prof $120,000 grant

Assistant professor Lindsay Schoenbohm, who studies plate tectonics and the role that climate plays in initiating, enlarging and sustaining continental plateaus, is one of 12 U of T professors be awarded $120,000 over the next three years by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council's (NSERC) Discovery Accelerator Supplements (DAS) program. Schoenbohm teaches in the Department of Chemical and Physical Sciences.

Nature reserve to be named after biology professor

Professor James Fullard of U of T Mississauga's Department of Biology, who passed away in March 2010, is being honoured with his name on a nature reserve in eastern Ontario.

Convocation speakers inspire U of T Mississauga graduands

About 1,000 students from the University of Toronto Mississauga graduated, degrees in hand, from U of T in early June in three separate convocation ceremonies.

Two new University Professors named

Two of U of T's top researchers -- a geologist and a biologist -- have been awarded the title University Professor, the highest academic honour the university accords its faculty.

The appointment of Professors Barbara Sherwood Lollar of geology in the Faculty of Arts and Science and Marla Sokolowski of biology at U of T Mississauga were approved by Academic Board at its June 2 meeting.
