Europe divided, oral traditions, dementia and writing focus of lecture series

Ghosts of Europe, aboriginal oral history and the extraordinary prose of ageing writers will be featured in three of the fall 2010 Canadian Perspectives Lecture Series at the University of Toronto Mississauga.

The lectures will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursdays from Oct. 7 to Nov. 4 at Erindale United Church, 1444 Dundas Cr. The series of five lectures costs $55 per person; individual lectures cost $12 each, with the exception being the Oct. 21 lecture that includes lunch ($20).

Prandium lunchtime seminar series puts learning on the menu

Starting this semester, the Department of Historical Studies and the Historical Studies Students Society will be serving up some food for thought with the launch of Prandium: A Historical Studies UTM Lunchtime Seminar Series.

The first of six lunchtime lectures will be held on September 29; the rest will take place over the course of the fall and winter semesters.

Former premier Bill Davis' commitment to education honoured with building re-dedication

In 1973, the Honourable William G. Davis presided over the opening of South Building, one of this campus' original structures. Now, this facility will be formally re-dedicated as the William G. Davis Building on Thursday, Oct. 14, at 2:30 p.m., outside the main entrance to the South Building.
