While Daniel Badali has not won the Nobel Prize for science yet, he is well on his way to many accolades with his research, starting with the inaugural Abdus Salem award in 2011. This honour, which is named after the 1979 Nobel Prize winner of the same name, is awarded to the best research project done by a U of T undergraduate student and supervised by a U of T Physics faculty member.

Instructional Centre wins international award

The Instructional Centre at U of T Mississauga has won an international interior design competition from among more than 350 projects worldwide.

Sheridan-UTM students triumph in U of T Drama Festival

Students of the joint Sheridan-UTM Theatre and Drama Studies Program – participating as the UTM Drama Club -- won the major prizes in the U of T Drama Festival last week.

The festival took place at the historic Hart House Theatre on the St. George campus of the University of Toronto, from Feb. 15 to 18. Four nights of completely original one-act plays representing students from multiple colleges on three campuses were entered in competition.

In Memoriam -- Paul Maycock

Professor Emeritus Paul Maycock, a specialist in plant ecology in the Department of Biology at the University of Toronto Mississauga, passed away on Feb. 23.

Born in Hamilton, Maycock studied biology at Queen’s University and the University of Wisconsin. He taught at McGill University from 1957 until 1969, when he joined what was then Erindale College at the University of Toronto.
