North and Davis Buildings to get $52.5 million renovation

Think of it as U of T Mississauga 2.0. The buildings that launched U of T Mississauga are about to get a massive upgrade as a result of a $52.5 million investment by the Ontario government.

The day that long-time U of T Mississauga employee Karen Younger retired, her husband got a job.
Retired two years earlier, Younger's husband, Rob, handled household chores like cooking, cleaning and cutting grass. With Younger at home to share the domestic duties, Rob took a part-time job to keep him busy. "Rob loves to get out of the house three days a week, and I love the peace and quiet," Younger said at a retirement celebration held on June 8 in the Faculty Club.

Professor Mari Ruti of the Department of English and Drama at the University of Toronto Mississauga is taking on the self-help industry in her new book The Case for Falling in Love: Why We Can't Master the Madness of Love-and Why That's the Best Part.

Ruti works at the intersection of contemporary theory, psychoanalysis, continental philosophy and gender and sexuality studies. Her book is written for a mainstream audience and she hopes it will help women and men understand that love is not a game to be won or lost.
