internationalLIFE

The International Centre is pleased to introduce internationalLIFE – our new peer program developed with international students for international students.  The program will focus on life skills, social transition, conversational English and one-on-one mentoring to enhance international student success at UTM.  When piloted January-March 2013, every first-year international student will belong to an international cohort facilitated by a peer international leader (PIL), with diverse opportunities to participate in workshops and events throughout the academic year.

InternationalLIFE comprises four elements with integrated goals:

  • iLIVE workshops assist students in developing life skills to enhance personal growth
  • iSOCIALISE activities help students to form relationships and a sense of belonging
  • iTALK sessions enable students to practice speaking and comprehending English
  • 1:1 mentoring offers individualised peer support as students navigate their first year

First-year international students are automatically enrolled in internationalLIFE and are free to participate in the program as much or as little as they choose.

For more information, please visit the International Centre for drop-in advising Monday to Friday from 1:00pm-3:00pm in DV1103 (no appointment required), or email international.utm@utoronto.ca.
