utmTALK
utmTALK is a causal, peer-facilitated program that focuses on conversational skill development for English language learners in the UTM Residence community. Biweekly “Conversation Circles” enable participants to interact with other students who share the common goal of improving their conversational skills in English, in a partially structured environment.
Conversation topics and exercises are chosen strategically so that students will become acquainted with cultural references and slang that are commonly used in Canada. Students find utmTALK sessions engaging and informative!
Every week students will participate in a variety of creative strategies, incorporating the use of media and other hands on approaches to language development, such as group word searches, role-plays, charades, and many more!
This is a great opportunity to develop your English skills, as well as make a few new friends to practice with!
