Re-Admission Scoring Process for Applying to Upper Year Residence

In determining the re-admission score for UPPER YEAR residence applicants, the following calculation will be used:

Primary Criteria

Points

Rationale

Most Recent UTM Annual Grade Point Average (GPA)

Your GPA
multiplied by 2
(GPA x 2)

Points assigned at par for the most recent annual GPA. The total points assigned are then multiplied by 2.

Secondary Criteria

Points

Rationale

rezONE First Year Experience Program

1

Completion of program (certificate received).

utmPLUS Upper Year Experience Program

1

Completion of program (certificate received).

Sample Calculation:

2.89 GPA

2.89 points

Weighted total (x2)

5.78 points

Level 1 discipline history

-0.5 points

rezONE or utmPLUS Certificate

+1 point

ADMISSION SCORE*

6.28 (sample calculation only)*

*Please note that the re-admission score cut-off changes from year to year. The cut-off score is determined on how many spaces are remaining after the University of Toronto First Year Housing Guarantee applications have been received.

Waitlist Procedures & Standards

Every year we receive many more applications than we have rooms available. The following is the process used to determine your wait list number:

  • There are two lists created by category (First-year Applicants & Upper-year Applicants)

  • As space becomes available in a specific category, an offer will be made to that specific gender and category. At no time will a mixed gender assignment occur.

  • If a wait list category is exhausted then an alternate category will be used to fill the space. This process will continue until no space remains or the waiting list is exhausted.
  • If we offer you a residence room and you decline because you would like another housing style your application will be cancelled or moved to the bottom of the list. Deposits are non-refundable.

  • If you find alternate housing and you would like to cancel off the waiting list, please send us the Withdrawal/Cancellation Form found online at http://www.utm.utoronto.ca/housing/und-forms by fax 905-828-5473 or by mail to Student Housing & Residence Life. Verbal or e-mail cancellations will NOT be accepted.

  • The wait list will remain active throughout the academic year.

  • It will be your responsibility to keep your contact information up-to-date directly through eRez.

  • Please refer to the Undergraduate Housing Occupancy Agreement, section 3 for more information. Deposits are non-refundable.
