Trans Accommodation

Trans - an umbrella term used to describe individuals who, to varying degrees, do not conform to what society usually defines as a man or a woman

Diversity is an important part of the cultural landscape at UTM, and we consider gender diversity to be an important aspect of this. We believe that students have a right to live in a housing arrangement that is inclusive of their gender identity. In the interest of creating such an equitable and inclusive community, the Department of Student Housing & Residence Life is happy to offer housing accommodations to those students who identify as trans, or for any students who feel that their gender identity or gender expression is not represented in the traditional male and female housing arrangements that are typical of most campuses.

If you identify as trans, we'd like you to fill out the form below, so that we may initiate a dialogue with you concerning what you see as your specific needs and interests in terms of your housing arrangement.
