Meal Plan Policies
A. APPLICABILITY
If you are an Undergraduate Student living in Residence at the University of Toronto Mississauga, you are required to have a Resident Student Meal Plan.
- First Year Students and Students living in Oscar Peterson Hall are required to select a Group A Meal Plan
- Upper Year Students are required to select either a Group A or Group B Meal Plan
- Upper Year Students relocating from Oscar Peterson Hall to another residence building, within the same academic year, may keep their Group A Meal Plan or may to opt to change to a Group B Meal Plan
B. MEAL PLAN SELECTION
You must select your Resident Student Meal Plan from the Meal Plan Selection page at endor.utm.utoronto.ca/mealplan before July 2nd, 2013. If you have not selected a Meal Plan by this date, you will be assigned a Meal Plan as follows:
- Students requiring a Group A Plan will be assigned a Group A Light Plan
- Students requiring a Group B Plan will be assigned a Group B Light Plan
C. MEAL PLAN PAYMENT
Your Resident Student Meal Plan will be billed by the University along with tuition fees, and will be charged to your ROSI Account in two installments as follows:

Group A Plans
- July Invoice – First Installment: $2,500
- December – Posted to ROSI Account - Remaining Balance of Selected Plan

Group B Plans
- July Invoice – First Installment: $1,300
- December – Posted to ROSI Account - Remaining Balance of Selected Plan
PLEASE NOTE:
- YOU WILL RECEIVE ALL OF YOUR MEAL PLAN DOLLARS ON RESIDENCE MOVE-IN DAY.
- THE DECEMBER CHARGE POSTED TO YOUR ROSI ACOUNT DOES NOT REPRESENT THE ADDITION OF FUNDS TO YOUR MEAL PLAN ACCOUNT – IT REPRESENTS THE CHARGE FOR THE UNPAID PORTION OF YOUR RESIDENT STUDENT MEAL PLAN.
D. MEAL PLAN CHANGES
You can change your Resident Student Meal plan, within the appropriate Meal Plan group, on or before September 30, 2013
- Any change in the type of Resident Student Meal Plan you have must be made in person at the Meal Plan Office
- For First Year Students, Meal Plan changes can only be made within the Group A Meal Plans
- For Upper Year Students, Meal Plan changes can be made within the Group A or Group B Meal Plans.
E. MEAL PLAN USE
Your Resident Student Meal Plan Funds can only be accessed using your TCard
- Your Resident Student Meal Plan is non-transferable and may only be used by the person to whom the Meal Plan was sold (i.e. the person whose name and picture are on the TCard)
F. MEAL PLAN FUNDS - ADDITIONS AND TRANSFERS
Meal Plan Funds – Additions
- Flex Dollars can be added to your Meal Plan on-line through your portal by using Visa or MasterCard
- Flex Dollars can also be added to your Meal Plan by visiting the Meal Plan Office and making a deposit using cash, debit, Visa, MasterCard, or American Express
- Basic Dollars can only be added to your Meal Plan by visiting the Meal Plan Office and making a deposit using cash, debit, Visa, MasterCard or American Express
Meal Plan Funds – Transfers
- Flex Dollars can be transferred to your Basic Account by visiting the Meal Plan Office
- Basic Dollars cannot be transferred to your Flex Account, because the Basic Account is tax exempt.
G. MEAL PLAN CARRY OVER
There are Carry Over privileges for the all Group A Plans
- There are no Carry Over privileges for any of the Group B Plans

Maximum Carry Over amounts are as follows:
- Minimum Plan A – $100.00
- Light Plan A – $410.00
- Regular Plan A – $660.00
- Plus Plan A – $960.00

H. MEAL PLAN CANCELLATION AND REFUND
You may cancel your Resident Student Meal Plan and request a refund only if you elect to move out of residence or withdraw from the University
- You must make your Refund Request on the Food Service Meal Plan Cancellation Request Form (available at the Meal Plan Office), and any Refund Request needs to be accompanied by proof of withdrawal authorization before it can be considered
- If a Resident Student Meal Plan refund is granted, it will be subject to a $50 administrative fee and to the application of a pro-rated overhead charge
- The Capital Improvement and Program Enhancement Component (C.I.P.E.) portion of your Meal Plan is not refundable
- Should you be required to withdraw from the university, your Resident Student Meal Plan will be cancelled and you will not be eligible for a refund
