Jan Noel specializes in aboriginal and gender history in colonial North America. She is the author of the Macdonald Prize-winning CANADA DRY: TEMPERANCE CRUSADES BEFORE CONFEDERATION. Professor Noel has published 32 refereed articles, chapters, books and booklets. Her book ALONG A RIVER: THE FIRST FRENCH CANADIAN WOMEN was published by University of Toronto Press in 2012.
