Departmental Awards & Scholarships
The Department of Historical Studies at the University of Toronto Mississauga recognizes the contributions and excellence of our students on an annual basis. Awards are based on merit, stellar academic performance and overall positive contribution to the learning environment and dynamism of the department.
Recipients of departmental awards join a distinguished group of fellow students who share a similar passion for learning and dedication to high achievement in historical studies programs of study. In order to qualify for any of the following awards, applicants must be enrolled in a historical studies subject POSt (Program of Study). Financial need is not necessary in order to be a successful candidate for nomination.
In addition to receiving a certificate, plaque or other form of commemoration from the department, award and scholarship recipients, along with maximum two guests, are invited to attend an afternoon cocktail reception hosted by the Chair of the Department of Historical Studies. This event typically takes place in the spring.
Deadlines for award applications are posted under the Awards tab of our website by mid-late January. We encourage students to check for updates at the commencement of the winter term.
