Change Lab
Room: SB 1156

Research conducted in the Cities, Health, And Neighbourhood Geomatics (CHANGE) Lab seeks to facilitate understanding of how social and physical attributes of urban environments influence health and access to care. Research conducted in the lab uses a mixed-methods approach that integrates quantitative and qualitative research methods along with Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Working in partnership with the Healthy City Stewardship Centre (HCSC) www.mississauga.ca/portal/cityhall/stewardship, the CHANGE lab also supports research that facilitates the development of policies and programming among local community partners. A sample of recent research projects include: - access to health care among immigrants - health impacts of un/under employment among recent skilled immigrants - determinants of access to health care among urban Aboriginal peoples - neighbourhood-level variations and determinants of hospitalization in Mississauga - barriers to physical activity among female adolescents
