Wetland

At the south shore of the pond, south of the UTM South Building.
A broadleaf cattail (Typha latifolia)-dominated marsh.
Soil in often saturated (Gleysolic order) due to topographically low position.
Evaporation rates are likely high as there is periodic standing water.
Like grassland aboveground vegetation fully senesces in fall and regrows in spring.
