Professional Writing & Communication Internships

Professional Writing StudentThese courses are practical internships and are available only upon application from PWC Majors. Through a placement, students will apply their expertise in writing, editing and communications. Students must plan well in advance for their placement and work closely with CCIT/PWC placement officer to determine eligibility and suitability. A report of the placement, samples of work completed on the placement and a presentation about it will be required at the end of the placement. These, and the employer's assessment, will determine the course mark. To successfully complete a full credit of internship, the student is required to fulfill a work commitment of 200 hours on-site (which is approximately equivalent to 1 day per week per academic year). Students will register for 1/2 credit at a time. Scheduling of work commitments is completely flexible and is worked out by mutual agreement between the student and the employer. Students can take one or both 1/2 courses during the summer as well.
