Women & Gender Studies

This practicum allows advanced WGS students to combine theory and practice through part-time unpaid placement with a community agency, government body, educational or social change organization. These have included: Canadian Centre for Victims of Torture, Interval House women’s shelter, Canadian Centre for International Justice, Mood Disorder Clinic, theatre group, Women in Transition Centre, 1000 Women for the Nobel Peace Prize, amongst others.
Applications in spring for 1.0 credit Sept.-April, approx. 200 hours in placement. Recommended Preparation: WGS 200Y5 and 1.0 WGS credit at the 300-level.
Prerequisite: 3rd or 4th year status and PI.
