Kathleen Wilson Ruffo received her BA, MA and Ph D from the University of Toronto where she completed a doctoral dissertation on the illumination of northern French collections of courtly love poetry. A lecturer in medieval art history at the University since 1995, she has also served as a research and educational consultant for the University Art Centre and the Art Gallery of Ontario. Her academic interests range from text-image relations in medieval manuscripts to the interplay of sacred and secular themes in thirteenth- and fourteenth-century art. A regular instructor in the Siena Summer Program, one of several international study programs offered through Woodsworth College, she also pursues research on Tuscan painting of the late medieval and early renaissance periods.
