Josh Dittrich

Joshua Dittrich has a BA in Comparative Literature from the University of Virginia and a PhD in German Studies from Cornell University. In addition to teaching courses in Visual Studies and Art History, Josh regularly teaches writing courses in the Professional Writing & Communication program and has also taught German classes at the UTM and St. George campuses. His research and teaching interests include: modernism in literary and visual arts; 20th and 21st century poetry; theory and practice of translation; and intersections of critical theory, media studies and contemporary culture. Josh is currently writing a book on "primitivism" in German literature and art of the early 20th century. His recent publications include: "A Life of Matter and Death: Inorganic Life in Worringer, Deleuze and Guattari," Discourse 33.2 (2011): 242-262.
