Ø NSERC has removed the full-time requirement for students in order to be eligible to apply. CPS will accept applications from Full-Time and Part-Time students. However, it is still expected that most awards will be held by full-time students.

Ø A USRA is intended to be over and above the academic credits needed for a degree, similar to a co-op placement. It may be held concurrently with a co-op placement.

Ø USRA holders are not permitted to take courses during working hours or to do thesis research throughout the work term.

Ø A student may hold only one USRA per fiscal year.

Ø A student may hold a maximum of 3 USRAs throughout his/her university career.
