Scholarships/Fellowships/Awards

In addition to being financially beneficial in the short-term, scholarships provide enduring long-term documentation of meritorious academic and research performance. As mentioned above, students are expected to apply for scholarships on a regular basis. Several prominent scholarships are described below. Note that the School of Graduate Studies maintains a far more comprehensive list of scholarships, fellowships, loans, and bursaries. It is essential that students ensure that their applications for NSERC and OGS/ OGSST scholarships are complete by the deadlines. Since both applications require university transcripts and letters of recommendation, neither of which can be easily obtained at the last minute, it is advisable to start assembling application materials early in the Fall term. Applications will not be considered if received after the internal deadline.
