Conditions:

To be awarded on the basis of financial need to a third- or fourth-year graduate student in the field of physical organic or bio-organic chemistry. The student must have a research publication from their graduate studies. Academic achievement will also be considered.

Application:

To the Graduate Office, Department of Chemistry. Submit statement of the basis of academic achievement, curriculum vitae (including list of publications) and completed Financial Need Assessment form.


Dalton Chemical Laboratories Organic Chemistry Scholarship in Memory of Peter Yates

Value:

One award of approximately $1000.00

Conditions:

To be awarded on the basis of financial need to a first-year graduate student in organic chemistry. Significant improvement in academic performance between the third and fourth year in the undergraduate program will also be considered.

Application:

To the Graduate Office, Department of Chemistry. Submit statement of the basis of academic merit and completed Financial Need Assessment form.


Merck Frosst Canada Inc. Chemistry Conference Award

Value:

One award of approximately $1500.00

Conditions:

To be awarded to a senior graduate student in synthetic organic chemistry to attend an international conference and present their ideas and discoveries. The student must have a research publication from their graduate studies. The Award will be based on financial need. Academic achievement and research ability will also be considered.

Application:

To the Graduate Office, Department of Chemistry. Submit conference abstract, short statement (not to exceed one page) outlining importance of the research paper/poster to be presented, curriculum vitae (including list of publications), and completed Financial Need Assessment form.


Dr. L. Bradley Pett Graduate Award in Biological Chemistry

Value:

One award of approximately $1500.00

Conditions:

To be awarded to a graduate student in the Department of Chemistry who has completed at least one year of graduate work in the area of biological chemistry. The award will be made on the basis of financial need. Academic merit will also be considered.
