The Career Centre offers students and recent graduates (for 2 years after graduation) access to a variety of individual appointments, workshops, programs, employment services, events, drop-in services and resources.
Individual Appointments:
Career Counselling: If you are unsure about your career direction or how your academic major relates to work after graduation, you may find it helpful to make an individual appointment with one of our professional Career Counsellors. Career Counsellors will also provide feedback on Personal Statements required for graduate schools. Contact the Career Centre to book an appointment.
Employment Advisors: Our Employment Advisors are here to help you with some key elements of your job search: your resume, cover letter and interview skills. Contact the Career Centre to book an appointment.
Resume Critiques: Individual 30 minute appointments are available in the Career Centre. Online same-day sign-up is available on critique days starting at 9:00 a.m. For a list of critique days see our Events Calendar.
Limit of 3 critiques per term per student. In order to provide critiques to as many UTM students as possible, please call us at 905-828-5451 in advance if you need to cancel your appointment. Please refer to our late cancellation and no show policy on your confirmation of registration.
Workshops
Small group workshops help you begin your career planning and sharpen your work search skills. We offer a variety of workshops covering different phases in the career planning process. Check the list of workshops hosted by the Career Centre, and check the Events Calendar for upcoming dates.
Programs
Extern Job Shadowing Program: A unique career exploration program, offering current U of T students the opportunity to investigate their career interests in the actual workplace over a 1 to 5 day voluntary placement in February and/or May.
Employment Services
We have postings for full-time work following graduation; Summer Employment; Part-time/Temporary; On-Campus; Ontario Work Study Program on-campus jobs; and Volunteer.

Student Career Assistants: Available throughout the academic year to help you locate and use Career Centre resources. Students who help students.
Career Resource Library: Information about careers and career planning, college and university calendars, professional schools, effective work search methods, employer directories, Work/Study Abroad information, a Networking Binder and more. Computers are available through which you can access web sites, job postings and Career Cruising, a Canadian Electronic Career Guide.

Alumni Profiles: Read profiles of UTM alumni, find out about their career path and how their experiences have affected their career direction.
Tipsheets: Information on a variety of career and work search related topics.
Careers by Major: Check out career options for your area of study.
