Program Timelines for the February 2012 Program (Week of February 21-24)

Please note that all deadlines are firm. Failure to meet a program deadline could result in automatic withdrawal from the program.

October/November 2011	Interested students attend a mandatory Program Orientation. The orientations will take place at the UTM campus on: Thurs, Oct. 27 3:00-4:30 Fri, Nov. 04, 2011 2:00-3:30 Wed, Nov. 09, 2011 3:00-4:30 Mon, Nov. 14, 2011 10:00-11:30 Please sign up via the Events Calendar section of our website.
Friday, November 18	Deadline to submit Extern Program Registration Form online (only for students who have attended a Mandatory Orientation).
December 12 - January 12	Extern Placements posted on the Career Centre website for program registrants.
January 12	Deadline to submit applications for placements.
January 18 - 19	Applications screened by Extern Committee.
January 24	Successful applicants notified by email.
January 26 – February 7	First time participants attend the mandatory "Maximize your Extern Job Shadowing Program Experience" seminar. Please sign up via the Events Calendar on our website.
February 6 – 10	Participants confirm placement details with their hosts.
February 21 –24	Extern Job Shadowing Program Week.
February 27 – March 2	Participants send thank-you letter to their hosts.
March 19	Deadline to submit a written reflection or meet with a counsellor
March 30	Deadline to submit program feedback forms.

Program Timelines for the May 2012 Program (Week of May 1-4)

February 2012	Interested students attend a mandatory Program Orientation session. The orientations will take place at the U of T Mississauga campus in Feb/March. Please see our Events Calendar on our website in the winter 2011 session for dates.
February 24	Deadline to submit Extern Program Registration Form online (only for students who have attended a Mandatory Orientation).
March 2 - March 18	Extern Placements posted on the Career Centre website.
March 18	Deadline to submit applications for placements.
March 20-21	Applications screened by Extern Committee.
March 26	Successful applicants notified by email.
March 28 – April 11	First time participants attend the mandatory "Maximize your Extern Job Shadowing Program Experience" seminar. Please sign up via the Events Calendar on our website.
April 9 – 13	Participants confirm placement details with their hosts.
May 1 - 4	Extern Job Shadowing Program Week.
May 7 –11	Participants send thank-you letter to their hosts.

June 8	Deadline to submit program feedback

Note: Students who participated in the program in 2010 or 2011 will not need to attend an orientation session. Please send and e-mail to extern@mail.careers.utoronto.ca indicating your interest in participating in the program.
