Extern - How Does It Work?

Students wishing to participate need to:

  1. Register with their campus career centre.
  1. Submit your Extern Program Registration Form online by the deadline date of October 29, 2012 for the February program and February 12th, 2013 for the May program - The link will become available shortly.
  1. Tell us which career area you would like to explore by filling out a short questionnaire (After completing the Registration form, you will be immediately directed to this).
  1. Attend an Extern Career Education & Program Orientation Session (Participants who took part in the program in from 2010-2012 DO NOT need to attend an orientation).
  1. Apply to placements.
  1. Confirm their acceptance of the awarded placement.
  1. Attend an Extern Placement Preparation Session. NOTE that this session is optional for previous participants.
  1. Attend placement.
  1. Complete a Reflection, either in person or online.  Then, complete the Program Feedback form (online).
  1. Pick Up their program certificate.
