Employment Services

The University of Toronto offers two employment job posting systems for students looking for full-time employment upon graduation: Graduating Students Employment Service (GSES) and Recent Graduates Employment Service (RGES). Both services are explained at our orientation session Now that I’m Graduating, What’s Next?offered throughout the year. This session will give you many tips on searching for jobs and researching careers. It’s great to start on those activities as early as possible because if you are in your final year of study, there are many career-related activities you can do to give you a head start before you graduate. Come to an orientation session to find out more!

If you graduated within the past two years, you can still gain access to the job postings and Career Centre services! If you already graduated and cannot attend an orientation session, please contact the Career Centre at 905-828-5451 or careers.utm@utoronto.ca.

How is GSES different from RGES?

GSES (Graduating Students Employment Service)

  • Runs from September to March; many organizations post in September and October
  • Provides full-time postings targeted for students in their final year of studies; positions generally begin between May-September
  • Most employers are large to mid-sized companies from a range of industries recruiting graduating students from all disciplines with more positions in business and technology
  • You will also be eligible for RGES after attending an orientation; look for an email in March regarding how to access RGES or contact the Career Centre for details

RGES (Recent Graduates Employment Service)

  • Runs year round, with postings updated daily Monday to Friday
  • Lists full-time opportunities that are available immediately; employers expect that students have graduated or completed all coursework
  • A broad range of career opportunities from large, medium and small organizations hiring recent graduates from different disciplines and in various areas of work
  • In addition to full-time job postings, you will get access to most Career Centre services for up to two years following convocation

How to register

  • Attend a “Now that I’m Graduating, What’s Next” orientation session.
  • Sessions are available throughout the year.
  • Check the Events Calendar for session dates and sign-up online.

Please note: the current RGES sessions, "How to Access Job Postings for Recent Graduates", will run until August 25 for those wanting access before the fall.
