Career Centre Student Staff Hiring Info Session

The Career Centre's Student Staff hiring process typically begins in February/March.

The following info is for the MARCH 2013 hiring season.


The Career Centre is now hiring student staff for the 2013-14 academic year. Join an exciting student services team and contribute to the UTM community! The following opportunities are available:

Career Assistants
Want to help other students? Want to learn more about your own career direction? Career Assistants (CAs) offer assistance to students in the Career Centre, linking students to relevant print and internet resources about career planning and work search. CAs also perform other duties including research careers and helping at Career Fairs.

Marketing & Events Assistants
Interested in a career in Communications? Advertising? Marketing? Design? Marketing & Events Assistants increase participation in Career Centre services and events by developing and implementing marketing campaigns and producing eye-catching promotional materials. They also do in-person outreach and assist with special events such as Networking Breakfasts, Career Fairs, etc.

Research Assistants
The Research Assistant assists Career Centre staff with survey and evaluation projects. This includes the development of electronic and print surveys and evaluations, and the compilation and analysis of results.

Library Assistant
The Library Assistant will help maintain the collection of the Career Resource Library by sorting and updating new career resources as they come in and keeping the collection in order.

  3. Update your resume by attending the Resume & Cover Letter Workshop on March 4 and follow-up with an individual resume critique before the deadline date.
  4. RESUME BLITZ
    During the week of March 4, we are offering an increased number of critique spots, but only on Tuesday, March 5 & Thursday, March 7.

  5. Finally, hand in your application in-person to us in Davis 3094 no later than Friday, March 8 at 4 pm.

There is no dress code for this event.
