Associates of U of T Mississauga

Associate members at Convocation

In 1968, U of T Mississauga's second principal, Dr. J. Tuzo Wilson, formed the Associates of the University of Toronto Mississauga (previously known as the Associates of Erindale College), which he envisioned as a link between the campus and the community. With this mandate, the Associates have made vital contributions to the life of the campus.

As members of the community, the Associates are proud to play a role in furthering educational opportunities. To this end, they organize and administer a number of programs and activities. Proceeds from Associates activities go towards funding scholarships and assistance to the campus. Events include:

Canadian Perspectives Lectures Series - Presented by the Associates since 1984, this spring and fall series presents noted speakers on topical issues. The proceeds fund student scholarships.

Outings - Popular outings are offered to interesting places such as museums, art galleries and theatre productions. Members are also invited to U of T Mississauga campus events such as Flicks on the Field, Spring Reunion and Breakfast Speakers' Series.

High Tea - This annual yuletide tradition celebrates the contributions of the Associates. Held at the Lislehurst, the U of T Mississauga's principal's home and also the historic home of world renowned artist Charlotte Schreiber, members enjoy refreshments and conversation surrounded by wood fires and elegant seasonal decorations.
