Theatre
Erindale, the production company of the
Theatre and Drama Studies program, presents a full season of plays in
the intimate, state-of-the-art Erindale Studio Theatre. Every student in the program
works on two of these shows per year. In first and second year, production
duties consist of backstage, technical and front-of-house work with increasing
levels of responsibility. In third year, students advance to the public
performance of mostly s upporting roles, and further prove their abilities
through the Junior project. In fourth year, acting responsibilities progress
to mostly featured roles, and are accompanied by a dramaturgical study of
the plays.
The fact that some expert technical and stage management support for Theatre
Erindale productions come from the students of the Theatre Arts-Technical
Production Program of Sheridan College provides and opportunity for positive
interaction.
In addition,
Theatre Erindale sponsors one or more Independent Student Productions during
the year. An active Drama Club open to all students and the area's busy
Community Theatre companies provide additional opportunities.
Theatre and Drama Studies Specialists may attend both Theatre Erindale and
Theatre Sheridan productions for reduced prices, and are also encouraged
to take advantage of their proximity to Toronto- the third largest theatre
centre in the world.
Tickets for Theatre Erindale's season are
available by subscription and singly. Subscriptions offer a 20% discount
over individual tickets and allow exchange privileges.
